Maine and New Hampshire Small Business Administration 

The NH SBA provides services including funding programs, counseling, federal contracting certifications, and disaster recovery. We can also connect you to our partner organizations, lenders, and other community groups that help small businesses succeed.

Finance Authority of Maine

To meet the financing needs of Maine’s business community, FAME offers a wide array of business assistance programs, ranging from traditional loan insurance programs for both small and larger businesses, to investment tax credits. FAME has also established taxable and tax-exempt bond financing programs that allow strong, creditworthy firms in Maine to access capital at favorable rates and terms.

SCORE Seacoast

We provide free and confidential one-on-one business counseling by video conference, phone, email and in-person in New Hampshire, Southern Maine, and Northern Massachusetts. We also conduct workshops for both start-up entrepreneurs and seasoned small business owners.

Veteran Entrepreneurial Training and Resource Network

Our mission is to provide veteran small business owners and family members an opportunity, free of tuition, to attend a program in entrepreneurship that is being put on exclusively for veterans in order to provide them with the skills, resources, mentoring and networking necessary to grow their own small business. This program is a six month VETRN program based on a course in strategic business planning, business cash flow and financial management.

Veterans Business Outreach Center

In partnership with the U.S. Small Business Administration, VBOC equips veteran and active duty service members and their families with the resources to help them start and run their businesses. VBOC of New England serves veterans in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont. The VBOC of New England is operated by the Center for Women & Enterprise who offer quality classes, programs and services to those who want to start and grow their business.

SBDC’s dedicated team of professional business advisors delivers highly individualized, confidential advising at no charge to enterprises across New Hampshire. APEX Accelerator (formerly ME PTAC)

Maine APEX provides training and technical assistance to local businesses statewide so they can find, win and perform on government contracts. As part of a nationwide network of APEX Accelerators, our partnerships and in-depth knowledge of government contracting gives businesses the tools to sell their goods/services to local, state and federal governments.

Maine Small Business Development Center

The Maine SBDC program helps build and strengthen small businesses through business advising, training and educational resources. Certified business advisors provide guidance on topics such as business feasibility, business plan development, capital acquisition, financial management, marketing and sales, e-commerce, customer service, personnel management, small business strategic planning and more.
