Rochester, NH:  Cornerstone VNA recently recognized longtime supporter, First Seacoast Bank, with the 2019 Cornerstone Award at their “Home Sweet Home” fundraising event on Thursday, October 3rd at Flag Hill Distillery & Winery in Lee.  First introduced in 2012, the Cornerstone Award recognizes an individual or local business for their dedication and commitment to advancing the mission of Cornerstone VNA.

As a nonprofit organization, Cornerstone VNA relies on the generosity of individuals and local businesses, and First Seacoast Bank has long been a champion and loyal supporter of Cornerstone VNA.  According to Julie Reynolds, RN, MS, Chief Executive Officer of Cornerstone VNA, “The support from the bank has been there in abundance, from sponsoring our events to members of their leadership team who have made significant contributions to our organization in their respective volunteer roles.”

Sharla Rollins, AVP, Branch Administrator has been a Cornerstone VNA Board Member since 2011. As a dedicated and engaged board member, Rollins also volunteers her time as a member of the Board’s Executive Committee, Finance Committee and Strategic Planning Committee.

Jim McKenna, VP, Financial Advisor at First Seacoast Bank has been generously sharing his time as a Hospice Volunteer since 2017.  According to Kelly Doherty, RN-C, MSN, ARNP-BC, ACHPN, Hospice and Palliative Care Director, “We are deeply grateful for the special time that Jim spends with our patients and their loved ones, who benefit from the support and companionship he provides during his visits.”

In 2016, First Seacoast Bank became the underwriter of an important new event called Caregivers Connect. This annual event has continued thanks to their generous sponsorship and provides an opportunity for Cornerstone VNA to provide support and education to family caregivers.  Additionally, First Seacoast Bank has been an ongoing sponsor of Cornerstone VNA’s annual silent auction event, which raises funds to provide access to care for those in need and support for innovative programs and services for people of all ages.

“Since 1890, First Seacoast Bank has remained committed to making a positive difference in the local communities we serve,” said Sharla Rollins, First Seacoast Bank Assistant Vice President, Branch Administrator and Cornerstone VNA Board Member. “While our name may be new, our local values are constant, and today, we remain more committed than ever to our mission and are proud to continue our support of Cornerstone VNA and this wonderful region we call home,” she added.

Cornerstone VNA is a non-profit home, health and hospice agency currently serving Rockingham, Strafford, Belknap and Carroll Counties in New Hampshire and York County in Maine. The team at Cornerstone VNA provides skilled nursing, rehabilitative therapies, social work as well as volunteer and support services through five distinct programs: Home Care, Hospice Care, Palliative Care, Life Care-Private Duty and Community Care. For 106 years, Cornerstone VNA has been committed to bringing services to people of all ages so that families can stay together at home, even when facing the challenges of aging, surgical recovery, chronic or life-threatening illnesses or end of life care.
